You brace for a shift you cannot quite name. Qi gong gives you ground while the ground is moving. Working one to one below the escarpment, over video or in person, I teach slow movement and breath fitted to you and never rushed. The city can take as long as it needs to find its shape; the ground under you holds still.
Hamilton has been shedding its old steel skin for something gentler, and the shift leaves its own kind of unsettledness. It is a short drive from my home, so in-person work here is simple to arrange.

Qi gong is an old practice of gentle movement, breath, and attention that works the body and quiets the mind at the same time. The forms are simple to begin, and they reward slow, correct practice more than effort.
Working one to one, we build the forms slowly and properly, so the breath and the movement actually settle into you instead of washing over you. You leave each session with a short practice you can hold at home, and it grows from there.
It is good for the body, for a restless mind, and for anyone who has tried to learn from videos and found that nothing stuck. Over video I can see and correct your form; in person I can adjust it hands-on.
